  4. The "Help" menu allows you to display on-line help for various
  5. topics.
  6.  
  7. You can customize it by editing the HELP.CFG file.
  8.  
  9. Lines in the file must have one of the following formats:
  10.  
  11.     -
  12.     file-name
  13.     file-name       "menu-text"
  14.     file-name       "menu-text"     character
  15.  
  16.  
  17. A line containing only a "-" character produces a grayed out
  18. separator line.
  19.  
  20. A line with only a file name produces a menu item with that
  21. file name.
  22.  
  23. The other two cases specify the text to appear in the menu.
  24. The quotation characters (") may be omitted if the menu item
  25. text contains no spaces.

  27. Finally you can specify a keyboard equivalent for the menu item.

  30. There is a limit of 31 items in this file to avoid going beyond
  31. the bottom of the screen on a 640 x 480 display.

  37. Suppose you had a file, called PHONE.TXT, that contained telephone
  38. numbers of SSTV manufacturers.

  40. Add this to the HELP.CFG file, making sure you don't go over the
  41. 31 line limit:

  43.     phone.txt       "Phone list"    @
  44.  
  45. While operating SSTV, you hear about the Ultra SSTV Gizmo Deluxe and 
  46. want to order one.  Just pick the "Phone list" item from the Help menu,
  47. or type the "@" key (assuming it's not used in any other menu) and
  48. the contents of PHONE.TXT will be displayed.

  50. The file name may contain a drive and/or directory.  If just a simple
  51. file name is used, the Pasokon TV directory is used.
